The GG1981S, front to temple tip
In the photos the Gucci GG1981S is the teardrop pilot lens that drops below the brow line. The lens is held by a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a double-bar bridge, with adjustable nose pads. The feed gives the material as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. Metal temples with acetate tips complete the frame. Gucci files this colourway as code 001.
