A closer look at the GG1981S
Seen front on, this is the teardrop pilot lens that drops below the brow line. The lens is held by a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a double-bar bridge, with adjustable nose pads. Our supplier lists the frame as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. It has metal temples with acetate tips. The colour code is 004, Gucci's own name for this finish.
