The GG1681S, front to temple tip

Seen front on, this is a rectangular front, wider than it is tall. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. The frame sits on a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. Our supplier lists the frame as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. Acetate temples complete the frame. The branding sits on the lens. The detail that stands out is the metal g hinge detail. The colour code is 001, Gucci's own name for this finish.

Will it fit?

Written on the inside of the temple as 53-14-140, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. A 53 mm lens puts it in the medium range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. The pair leaves the supplier exactly as packed by the maker, so a small fit adjustment, if needed, is an optician's job.

Lens colour and finish

Lens colour: solid grey. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. An even, flat tint. Nothing in the supplier's data says these lenses are polarized or gives a UV rating, so we say neither.
