Gucci GG1664S

The GG1664S, front to temple tip

Seen front on, this is a rectangular front, wider than it is tall. The lens is held by a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. Wide acetate temples complete the frame. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. Its signature is the gold-tone logo emblem on temples. Gucci files this colourway as code 001.

Size and fit

Written on the inside of the temple as 51-21-140, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. The lens width of 51 mm is medium for a sunglasses frame. Frames ship as the maker boxed them, without adjustment, and a local optician can fine-tune the fit.

Lens colour and finish

Grey lenses are fitted. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. An even, flat tint. We make no polarization or UV claim for these lenses: the supplier's data does not include one.

Shipping and returns, plainly

You get a new pair in Gucci's own box, with whatever case and cloth the brand supplies. It is packed by our supplier and shipped free anywhere in the US, usually one to two business days after the order, with a tracking number sent to you. Unworn pairs in their packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery, refund less the return label; defects, wrong items and transit damage are returned free when reported within 7 days.
