The GG1494S at a glance
What you get is a squared-off take on the aviator, with a flatter brow and straighter sides. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a double-bar bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The frame material is recycled acetate, per the supplier. Recycled acetate is the same sheet-cut material as standard acetate, made with recycled content; it holds colour well and an optician can adjust it with heat. It has acetate temples with a metal plaque at the hinge. Gucci files this colourway as code 002.
