A closer look at the GV40076I

In the photos the Givenchy GV40076I is a cat-eye front that lifts at the outer corners. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. It has acetate temples with a metal plaque at the hinge. The detail that stands out is the gold chain detail on temples. Colour 01A is how Givenchy labels this version.

How it fits

Written on the inside of the temple as 54-18-145, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. The lens width of 54 mm is medium for a sunglasses frame. The pair leaves the supplier exactly as packed by the maker, so a small fit adjustment, if needed, is an optician's job.

Through the lens

The lenses are grey. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. An even, flat tint. Nothing in the supplier's data says these lenses are polarized or gives a UV rating, so we say neither.
