GV40026U: shape and build

The photos show a rectangular front, wider than it is tall. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a saddle bridge that spreads the weight across the nose, and the nose rest is part of the frame. Our supplier lists the frame as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. Acetate temples complete the frame. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. Look for the beveled browline. Colour 01A is how Givenchy labels this version.

Reading the size

Written on the inside of the temple as 55-17-145, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. At 55 mm across the lens this is a large frame. Frames ship as the maker boxed them, without adjustment, and a local optician can fine-tune the fit.

Lens colour and finish

Grey lenses are fitted. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. An even, flat tint. We make no polarization or UV claim for these lenses: the supplier's data does not include one.
