What the CL40261I is

The photos show a cat-eye front that lifts at the outer corners. The lens is held by a full rim all the way round each lens. The frame sits on a saddle bridge that spreads the weight across the nose, and the nose rest is part of the frame. Our supplier lists the frame as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. It has acetate temples. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. Its signature is the thick flat top brow. The colour code is 25A, Celine's own name for this finish.

The numbers on the temple

Written on the inside of the temple as 60-19-125, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. At 60 mm across the lens this is a extra large frame. No one adjusts the fit before it ships; an optician can tweak the nose and temple bend in minutes.

The smoke lenses

Lens colour: smoke. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. An even, flat tint. We make no polarization or UV claim for these lenses: the supplier's data does not include one.
