The BE4434 at a glance

What you get is a square front with a flat brow and squared corners. The lens is held by a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a keyhole bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. Our supplier lists the frame as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. Acetate temples complete the frame. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. Look for the check pattern transparent frame. Colour 414673 is how Burberry labels this version.

Size and fit

The size is 57-20-145: lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. At 57 mm across the lens this is a large frame. Nobody bends the temples or nose rest before shipping; an optician can do that in a few minutes if the fit is off.

Lens colour and finish

Lens colour: dark brown. A brown tint warms the view slightly and sharpens contrast. An even, flat tint. Nothing in the supplier's data says these lenses are polarized or gives a UV rating, so we say neither.

If Check Sand is not your colour

The BE4434 is also listed here as 412587 (Check Green with dark grey lenses). Shape and size are the same; only the finish changes.

Shipping and returns, plainly

This is new, authentic Burberry stock in the brand's packaging, case and cloth included where Burberry supplies them. Our supplier ships it free to US addresses, usually within one to two business days, with tracking by email. Thirty days to return it, unworn and in its packaging, for a refund minus the label we send; anything defective, wrong or damaged in transit goes back at no cost within 7 days.
