The BV1212S at a glance

The photos show a square front with a flat brow and squared corners. It has a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. Our supplier lists the frame as recycled acetate. Recycled acetate is the same sheet-cut material as standard acetate, made with recycled content; it holds colour well and an optician can adjust it with heat. It has acetate temples with a metal plaque at the hinge. Look for the woven grid pattern green acetate frame. Bottega Veneta files this colourway as code 008.

Size and fit

The size is 52-20-145: lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. A 52 mm lens puts it in the medium range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. Nobody bends the temples or nose rest before shipping; an optician can do that in a few minutes if the fit is off.

Lens colour and finish

Green gradient lenses are fitted. A green tint sits between grey and brown: natural colour with a touch more contrast. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. No polarization or UV figure comes with this pair from the supplier, and we do not add one.
