The BB0095S, front to temple tip

In the photos the Balenciaga BB0095S is a cat-eye front that lifts at the outer corners. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a saddle bridge that spreads the weight across the nose, and the nose rest is part of the frame. Our supplier lists the frame as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. It has acetate temples with a metal plaque at the hinge. Colour 007 is how Balenciaga labels this version.

Size and fit

It measures 53-19-135, which is the lens width, then the bridge, then the temple length, all in millimetres. A 53 mm lens puts it in the medium range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. It ships unadjusted, straight from the box; a quick visit to an optician sorts any fit issue.

What the lens does

Grey lenses are fitted. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. Nothing in the supplier's data says these lenses are polarized or gives a UV rating, so we say neither.
