The mirror version of the Balenciaga shield
Where the black BB0003S hides behind a dark grey lens, color 011 does the opposite. The whole front is a single silver mirror lens that reflects what is in front of you, framed only along its top edge by a light grey bar. The bar carries a thin black pinstripe that runs its full width and turns down at each end, and the Balenciaga name is printed in black on the upper lens rather than in white. The nose piece is a small grey block shaped onto the back of the lens, and the straight grey temples match the bar.
Why the size line says 99-1-140
Balenciaga publishes this model as 99-1-140, which looks odd next to a normal frame's 55-18-140. The first number is lens width, and on a shield the lens is one piece that spans the whole face, so it reads 99 mm. The middle number is the bridge: there is no separate bridge on a one-piece lens, so it is listed as a nominal 1 mm. The temples are a standard 140 mm. Expect the front to sit about as wide as a large wraparound.
Silver mirror lens on a grey frame
