AK7081: shape and build

Seen front on, this is an oval lens, softer than a round one. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as plastic, though in the photos the front looks like acetate. The frame is finished with acetate temples. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. Its signature is the translucent blue front with patterned temples. The colour code is 020, Anne Klein's own name for this finish.

Size and fit

Written on the inside of the temple as 55-17-145, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. A 55 mm lens puts it in the large range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. The pair leaves the supplier exactly as packed by the maker, so a small fit adjustment, if needed, is an optician's job.

The smoke gradient lenses

Smoke gradient lenses are fitted. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. No polarization or UV figure comes with this pair from the supplier, and we do not add one.
