What the OR0079 is

In the photos the Adidas OR0079 is a square front with a flat brow and squared corners. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The frame material is plastic, per the supplier. An injected plastic frame is light and springy. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. The detail that stands out is the blue rubber details on temples. Adidas files this colourway as code 70Z.

Size and fit

Written on the inside of the temple as 51-20-145, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. The lens width of 51 mm is medium for a sunglasses frame. If the fit needs a tweak once it arrives, any optician can adjust it; pairs ship exactly as the maker packed them.

Through the lens

Pink gradient lenses are fitted. A coloured tint like this is chosen for its look as much as for shade. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. Nothing in the supplier's data says these lenses are polarized or gives a UV rating, so we say neither.

The OR0079 is also listed here as 91L (Matte Blue with roviex mirror lenses), 91X (Matte Blue with blue mirror lenses) and 02A (Matte Black with smoke lenses). Shape and size are the same; only the finish changes.
